Web Design

I don't really know that much about web design. I want to learn how to use graphic programs and information design to create a website. I want to understand Internet history and terminology. I also want to learn how to publish my website. And I want to learn the components of a good website , how programming tools create a website, and what happens in the preproduction phase of Web Design.
